About Julie Lindahl & Nordic Wellbeing

When first I came to Scandinavia in 1995 I sensed that this culture had its own special approach to health and wellbeing. My perspective was very much influenced by my lifelong special interest in how different cultures experience wellbeing. Each has its own ideas. To me, the Nordic region had a new contribution to make to the world, just as Asia had with Ayurveda, Yoga and Zen some decades ago. Today the Nordic countries are home to the oldest people in the world. This is a combination of factors. No doubt, however, one of them is lifestyle. My book, On My Swedish Island, is both a personal memoir of my discovery of Nordic Wellbeing and a practical guide to this old/new system for health and wellbeing. During the years since my book was published, I created an on-line magazine where readers can find a continual supply of new ideas to pursue Nordic Wellbeing and a skin care series drawing on my concept.

The Nordic region is home to its very own brand of health and wellness. This consists of traditions, culture and lifestyle approaches that add up to a system of wellbeing. Certain dimensions of this system can be experienced anywhere in the world by adopting them as lifestyle. Others are best experienced in Scandinavia.
